Making Difference In Our Community
The following are the vehicles that are carrying MSA in its mission of helping its community members reach their full potential while at the same time staying involved in its extended community in Seattle and Malawi alike
Culture and Heritage
In order to remain Malawian, the community will strive to preserve Malawian way of living amongst its members while promoting it to the Washington Community and the US at large, thereby creating a window into Malawi. Things that define Malawi include indigenous foods, fine art as well as performing arts such as drama and cultural dances.
Economic Empowerment
The number one reason for migration anywhere in the world is to seek opportunities for prosperity and security and this focus area will be dedicated to helping Malawians achieve their financial goals.
Health
Under this area MSA will focus on increase the quality, availability, and effectiveness of educational and community-based health programs designed to prevent disease and injury, improve health, and enhance quality of life.
Social Cohesion and Support
This area will focus on providing platform for communal social interactions for purposes of entertainment as well as provision of moral support to members in times of personal difficulties such as sickness and death.
