Membership
Membership in the Malawi Seattle Association is designated solely for accessing specific social service benefits provided by the Association, which include, but are not limited to, funeral assistance, illness assurance, and group life insurance. Membership in MSA does not come with voting rights, nor does it permit members to participate in governance issues in any form.
Paid Members’ Chances, Opportunities and Rights
Malawi Seattle Association paid members shall have chances, opportunities and rights as amended and approved by the Board of Directors/Board Members including “MSA Support to Members in Times of Difficulties/Need” and other Amendments and the following:
- The opportunity to enjoy social gatherings and experience the essence of “the Warm Heart of Africa” right here in America.
- A chance to celebrate important events we value and share like Independence and Thanksgiving.
- A chance to support members and their families during times of difficulties.
- The opportunity to cultivate deeper bonds within our community and network with a diverse type of people.
- Eligibility to be appointed by the Board of Directors to hold a position on the Board in the event of a vacancy.
- A chance to create and participate in exciting activities for families and children in our community to enrich the cultural perspective and appreciation of who we are as a Malawi Seattle community.
- A chance to volunteer and make a difference in our community.
- A chance to participate in future development plans to support education and employment opportunities as well as family unification assistance.
